Down in the essence cave, you'll see a large rock in the middle, surrounded by fourteen portals. Going clockwise from east to south, are all the rune-altars in order of unlock. See the table below to see when you unlock the ability to craft higher runes. Mine the rock in the middle of the room to get [[Pure essence]], if you have [[Runecraft#Essence Pouches|pouches]] on you, you can fill the pouches to store the Pure essence within them (this does not interrupt your mining process).  Once you have a full inventory (including [[Runecraft#Essence Pouches|pouches]]) head to the portal with the icon of the rune you wish to craft. After a quick teleportation you're taken to a cloud containing a rune-altar, click on the rune-altar to craft your runes. Once your runes have been crafted, simply run back to the portal and you're taken back to the main part of the essence cave. Rinse and repeat.
