Runecraft

Runecraft, often called Runecrafting, is a skill that allows players to craft their own runes to enchant Strongboxes. Usually this skill is very slow and tedious, as for RuneSaga, this is not the case. All of your runecrafting altars and the place to mine Pure essence are packed into the same space.

How to obtain pure essence

There are various ways to obtain Pure essence:

• Click on the skilling portal at home -> In the middle of all the ores, there is an entrance to the essence cave -> Mine essence at the rock in the middle, runecraft/bank after
• Can be obtained from various monsters in game, such as; Gyarados and Fluffy
• From Strongboxes and/or the Crystal Chest
• Mains can buy Pure essence from other players

Mechanics

Down in the essence cave, you'll see a large rock in the middle, surrounded by fourteen portals. Going clockwise from east to south, are all the rune-altars in order of unlock. See the table below to see when you unlock the ability to craft higher runes. Mine the rock in the middle of the room to get Pure essence, if you have pouches on you, you can fill the pouches to store the Pure essence within them (this does not interrupt your mining process). Once you have a full inventory (including pouches) head to the portal with the icon of the rune you wish to craft. After a quick teleportation you're taken to a cloud containing a rune-altar, click on the rune-altar to craft your runes. Once your runes have been crafted, simply run back to the portal and you're taken back to the main part of the essence cave. Rinse and repeat.

Essence Pouches

Essence pouches are bags that can hold varying amounts of pure essence for use in the Runecraft skill. On RuneSaga you do not need to empty your pouch to craft runes, the Pure essence inside them will be used upon activation of the altar.

AFK Zone

In the AFK Zone located at home, you can AFK Runecraft at the "Mysterious ruins" which will net you 150k xp/hr for normal mode and 60k xp/h for challenge mode.
