Ranged is one of the three combat classes in Runesaga . It involves using bows, crossbows and Ranged armour to increase your ranged accuracy, ranged strength and defensive bonuses. All ranged weapons apart from the Serpentstrike in Runesaga require no ammo.
How to train Ranged
In order to gain experience in the Ranged skill, you need to have a Ranged weapon equipped. Accurate gives accuracy bonuses for using it, whilst rapid speeds up your attack speed for (Ranged). If you want to focus mainly on Ranged experience, you should use Accurate or Rapid.
Ranged bonuses
The ability to attack from a distance means that a player can safespot a melee monster while fighting from safety. Keep in mind that some melee monsters have high Ranged Defence, so a high Ranged level may be needed. Crossbows are useful against monsters with high Defence, as they are very accurate.
Players do not need ammunition on Runesaga.
A player's Ranged level will not increase their ranged defence, but magical defence is different - it is based on 70% of the player's Magic level, while the remaining 30% is the player's Defence level, which is then followed by the player's magical defence bonus from their armour.
Temporary Boosts
There are some temporary boosts you can get in RuneSaga to help not only your Ranged skill.
Boost | Level
Increase |
Other Information (For exact boost #'s see specific potions) | |
---|---|---|---|
Ranging Potion | 3-12 | You get 3 base, +1 for every 10 range levels rounded down. So 99 range you get 3 + 9, 90 is the same. 80-89 is 3+8, etc. | |
Super ranging | 5-19 | You get 5 base, +1 for 15% of your current range level rounded down. So 99 range gets you 5 + 14. Then at 93 attack it drops down to 5+13, etc. | |
Celestial Ranging Potion | 5-19 | You get 5 base, +1 for 15% of your current ranged level rounded down. So 99 ranged gets you 5 + 14. Then at 93 ranged it drops down to 5+13, etc.
Same boost as a Super ranging, except your bonus will not decay for 5 minutes. BREWS STILL LOWER YOUR STATS | |
Focused Heart | 4-26 | Base 4 + 1 level for every 5 ranged levels. Maxes out at 96-99 for a 26 boost to ranged.
BREWS STILL LOWER YOUR STATS | |
20% Dmg Boost Card (Range) | 0 | Doesn't necessarily boost the Ranged stat, but I'd be remiss if I didn't include it. 20% damage increase to ranged damage for 30 minutes. |
