Woodcutting

Woodcutting is a gathering skill that primarily involves chopping trees to obtain logs used in the Fletching and Firemaking skills. The higher a player's Woodcutting level and the tier of their axe, the more likely they are to successfully obtain logs.

You can purchase axes from Master Forester in the skilling zone, or get them as drops from monsters.

Axes

Axes are needed to chop trees. They can be equipped as a weapon, giving players one extra space in their inventory. Higher level axes grant more frequent opportunities to obtain logs from a tree, but have no effect upon the chance of successfully doing so.

A player's Woodcutting level determines the type of axe they can chop with. A player's Attack level determines if you can equip it or not.

Infernal axe

The Infernal axe is a special axe that requires level 61 Woodcutting to use. It is created by using a Smouldering stone on a Dragon axe, requiring level 61 Woodcutting and level 85 Firemaking to create. While chopping a tree with the Infernal axe in the inventory or equipped, there is a 1/3 chance that the logs will be consumed as they are chopped, giving half of the Firemaking experience that would usually be gained by burning them the normal way.

AFK Zone

In the AFK Zone located at home you can AFK chop the "Golden tree" which will net you 150k xp/hr for normal mode and 60k xp/h for challenge mode.. Additionally, there are Cyber Palms in the donator zone (::dz).
